			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Last week I&#8217;ve designed an ultra short landing page for a new consumer proposition @Essent.<br />
The target resolution was set on 1024 x 768 px, with a vertical websafe area of 600 px (fold).</p>
<p>The main goal in this design:</p>
<li>communicate the whole proposition (with incentive)</li>
<li>communicate some emotion to contribute to the conversion</li>
<li>include a short web form to make the conversion</li>
<li>follow branding rules</li>
<p></br><br />
I wanted to do this, and stay well within the websafe area, in other words, the full UX without any scroll action!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A few days ago, I had a discussion about <strong>real estate</strong>&#8230;pixel real estate that is.<br />
I came to the conclusion that not everybody is familiar with the term &#8220;real estate&#8221; in relation to online design.</p>
<p>Visual designers always have to &#8220;struggle&#8221; with the real estate within their designs.<br />
Basically, real estate is the available pixel space in your design, in which all elements will claim their own space.</p>
<p>Elements that strongly influence the real estate are for example:</p>
<ul>
<li>Your target resolution</li>
<li>Browser safe area aka &#8220;The fold&#8221;</li>
<li>Design grid, for ex. the famous 960 grid</li>
</ul>
<p>All these elements have to be taken into account, if you don&#8217;t want to have problems with your real estate, during your design.</p>
<p>So now you know about real estate!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Last week we launched the new online <strong>&#8220;Slimme Thermostaat&#8221;</strong> campaign for Essent.<br />
It is a consumer based proposition, with an incentive, a nicely designed thermostat.</p>
<p>The objective is to create a &#8220;gadget&#8221; like urge (AIDA), visual/graphical design is key in order to provoke this desire.</p>
<p>During the next few weeks, we&#8217;re going to optimize the overall online concept &#038; strategy,<br />
based on statistics and customer insights. Maybe switch from AIDA approach to fast hardcore sales</p>
<p>Till then&#8230;fingers crossed and hope it will run smoothly!<br />
